DOT and FAA Finalize Rules for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems
The Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration has finalized the first operational rules for routine commercial use of small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS or “drones”), opening pathways towards fully integrating UAS into the nation’s airspace. These new regulations work to harness new innovations safely, to spur job growth, advance critical scientific research and save lives.

FAA Issues Final Policy on Hangar Use
The FAA's final policy on the non-aeronautical use of airport hangars has been published in the Federal Register and will take effect on July 1, 2017. The FAA is issuing the policy to clarify how aviation facilities - including hangars can be used on airports that receive federal funds. The final policy strikes a balance between hangar use for aviation and non-aviation purposes.

$3.4 Million Awarded for Airport Infrastructure Grants
