Positive Trend in Airline Passenger Levels Continue in July

North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports during the month of July posted a total of 39,660 passengers boardings. This is higher than the statewide passenger volume that was seen in each of the last three months; however, it amounts to 36% of the passenger levels that North Dakota experienced during the same month last year.

June Airline Passenger Levels Continue Slow Recovery

Airline passenger levels in North Dakota and throughout the rest of the country continue their slow recovery from the historically low passenger numbers that were seen in the previous two months. The lower passenger demand is directly attributed concerns related to the COVID-19 virus.

Airline Passenger Levels Rise from April’s Historical Lows

North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports during the month of May posted a total of 13,474 passengers boardings.  Due to impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, these numbers amount to a statewide decline of 86% of the normal passenger volume that the airports were previously expected to see during this month.

$9.7 Million Awarded for Airport Infrastructure Grants

On June 11th, 2020, the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission finalized approximately $9.7 million in state infrastructure grant allocations to multiple public airports throughout North Dakota.  The individual awards are noted on the attached listings which show 141 individual projects have received grant awards at 55 different public-use airports throughout the state.
