Airport of the Year
Each year one general aviation and one commercial service airport in North Dakota are recognized as the “Airport of the Year.” This award is provided from the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission in partnership with the Airport Association of North Dakota. Airports are chosen for excellence in advocacy and community outreach, management and commitment to aviation advancement, special events, as well as construction and beautification projects. The nomination forms are due the ND Aeronautics Commission office annually prior to January 15th.

The North Dakota Commercial and General Aviation Airports of 2023 were awarded to Devils Lake and Ashley at the Fly North Dakota conference awards banquet on March 5th, 2024.
