ND Aerial Applicators Provide Record Service to 5.5 Million Acres in 2024

North Dakota is celebrating a historic achievement in the 2024 growing season, as aerial applicators treated a record-breaking 5.5 million acres of cropland. This surpasses the previous record of 5.2 million acres set in 2015, marking a significant milestone for both the aviation and agricultural industries. All licensed aerial applicators are required to report their acreage annually to the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission, and the state’s historical (20 year) average is 4 million acres per year.

North Dakota's Strong Holiday Air Travel Drives Record-Breaking November

In November 2024, 103,279 passengers boarded flights in North Dakota, making it the busiest November on record and surpassing the previous high of 102,517 passengers set in November of 2014. The latest figures represent a 7% increase over November of 2023, with 6,561 more passengers. This November also marked the seventh consecutive month of record-breaking passenger totals across the state’s commercial service airports.

October is the Sixth Consecutive Record Breaking Month for North Dakota's Airline Boardings

In October 2024, 112,273 passengers boarded flights in North Dakota, making it the busiest October on record and surpassing the previous high of 110,013 passengers set in October of 2014. The latest figures represent an 11% increase over October 2023, with 10,896 more passengers boarding flights. This October also marked the sixth consecutive month of record-breaking passenger totals across the state’s commercial service airports.
