March Airline Boardings Surpass 100,000 Passengers

Commercial airline boarding numbers for March 2023 reached 101,146 passengers, representing an almost 4% increase from the same period last year. These numbers also reflect the highest level of monthly airline passenger traffic seen in North Dakota over the last three years. Additionally, the last time that North Dakota surpassed 100,000 passengers over a one-month time period was in February 2020.

Spring Break Travel in Full Swing at ND Airports

Air service activity levels throughout North Dakota remains very healthy as spring break travel is in full swing. North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports posted a total of 88,152 airline passenger boardings during the recent month of February. This is a 9% increase from the 80,552 boardings that the state experienced in the same month in 2022.

North Dakota Pilots Complete “FLY NORTH DAKOTA AIRPORTS” PASSPORT PROGRAM

On Sunday March 4th, Seven pilots were presented with awards for participating in the “Fly North Dakota Airports” Passport Program. The passport program presents awards to pilots for flying to airports in the state as well as attending FAA Safety Seminars and visiting the two North Dakota Air Museums.

Watford City Municipal Airport has as been recognized as North Dakota’s 2022 General Aviation Airport of the Year

Watford City Municipal Airport has been recognized as North Dakota’s “2022 General Aviation Airport of the Year.” Airports receive this award for excellence in community outreach, facility management, construction and beautification projects, and participation and hosting of special events. This award is sponsored annually by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission in partnership with the Airport Association of North Dakota.
