2019-2021 North Dakota Blue Book Highlights Aviation in North Dakota

Bismarck, N.D. – Today Secretary of State Al Jaeger presented a ceremonial first copy of the 33rd edition of the North Dakota Blue Book to Governor Doug Burgum. The presentation took place at a ceremony in the Capitol’s Memorial Hall.

The 2019-2021 North Dakota Blue Book presents “Aviation in North Dakota,” which begins with the first flight in North Dakota and continues through today’s growing unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry. At the beginning of each of the book’s chapters are photos reflecting the state’s diverse aviation industry.

Another notable addition to this book is a new chapter highlighting the 50th anniversary of United Tribes Technical College.

During the ceremony, Jaeger recognized over 70 volunteers who wrote and contributed information for the book. Starting in August 2018, these individuals committed many hours to make this latest edition a reality.

The core of this 13th biennial publication, beginning in 1995, remains the same. It contains information about the state not readily found in other publications, such as statistical data and information about the state’s symbols and awards, elected officials, agencies, judiciary, legislative branch, federal-state relationships, education, elections, agriculture, natural resources and energy.

Twenty editions of the Blue Book are now available online, and each edition can be accessed directly from the websites of the North Dakota Secretary of State, www.sos.nd.gov, and the State Historical Society of North Dakota, www.history.nd.gov.
