The Williston Basin International Airport is Awarded the “2019 COMMERCIAL SERVICE AIRPORT OF THE YEAR”

The Williston Basin International Airport has received the North Dakota “2019 Commercial Service Airport of the Year” award. The award was presented on March 3rd, 2020 at the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium held in Minot. The award is sponsored by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission in partnership with the Airport Association of North Dakota. This award is for excellence in community awareness, airport management, special events, and beautification projects.

Allen Sauter to be inducted into North Dakota’s Aviation Hall of Fame

The North Dakota Aviation Hall of Fame committee announces that Allen Sauter has been selected for induction into the state’s Aviation Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place on the evening of March 3rd, at the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium banquet in Minot, ND. Allen Sauter will join the prestigious aviation hall of fame group that currently includes 44 other individuals who have all had a significant impact to the growth, development, and promotion of aviation in North Dakota. North Dakota Airport Passenger Boardings up 10% in 2019

North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports finished calendar year 2019 with a statewide total of 1,191,569 passenger boardings. This is a growth of 108,452 passengers or an 10% increase from 2018 numbers. This also results in the second busiest year on record for North Dakota next to 2014, which occurred during the height of the state’s oil boom.

2019-2021 North Dakota Blue Book Highlights Aviation in North Dakota

Today Secretary of State Al Jaeger presented a ceremonial first copy of the 33rd edition of the North Dakota Blue Book to Governor Doug Burgum. The presentation took place at a ceremony in the Capitol’s Memorial Hall.
